I liked adventuring in this town quite a bit, and for some reason found it just a bit more creepy than Aika village, which I visited early today.
I’m not 100% sure of the linear story to this village, but here is what I grasped from the two houses featured in the village. Pictures are hyper-linked.
House #1 ( 1 )
The first room of the first house that I visited was bright and lively. It looked to be the home of an artist. There were paintings all around.
The rooms adjacent, as well as the basement and attic was where the story is actually told.
The artist is seen in one room, before an easel, painting. A dolly (like the one in Aika village) is looking on. He appears to be painting some sort of forest scene…
In the next room, the lights are off but the painting is finished. The artist is no where to be seen, though I assume we are supposed to picture him lying in the bed, asleep….because Dolly is standing before the bed with an axe.
Cut to the next room and the bed sheets are covered in blood. Clearly, Dolly has murdered the artist.
In the next seen, the axe is abandoned in front of the easel as Dolly has disappeared into the painting. You can see her walking into the painted woods.
House #2 ( 1 2 3 )
To get to this house, I had to go through a maze of trees, much like the ones that were featured in the artist’s painting. If you take the shovel, you can dig up a few things a long the way (I found an axe, and someone’s boot)…
This house is a mansion, gothic style. It should be noted that all of the lights in this house are off, and almost every room is playing K.K. Dirge.
The first room is creepily furnished. Dolly’s painting is once again seen, with her present inside. There is a man, probably the owner of the painting though once again I’m not sure how he came about this painting.
I first traveled to what appeared to be bathroom/bedroom combo. I didn’t notice much…until I turned the camera to a bird’s eye view and noticed an axe and a bloodied shirt hidden behind one of the beds. As I was leaving, I found Dolly’s painting hanging on the wall above the bathroom. Dolly was absent from the room, but present in the painting.
The next room I went into was an art gallery. The Majora’s Mask and Midna’s mask were on display as you first walk in. Behind one of the cases, Dolly hides. Her painting is there, but since she is in the room, the painting is vacant.
On to the basement. Woah. There is blood everywhere. The room is decorated like a torture chamber. And Dolly is seen looking over it all from her painting. Yikes.
Finally, I made my way to the attic.
The entire room is black. A pentagram is on the wall, and Dolly and her axe rest before an altar decorated with skulls and an open book, and is surrounded by a cauldron and a crystal ball.
I definitely had more of a heeby jeeby effect from this down than Aika’s village.
